GlobeSt. Reveals Liz Sands in Top Picks for 2021 Woman of Influence Award

Honoring CRE Female Humanitarians

GlobeSt.com and GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum are pleased to reveal our top picks for 2021 Woman of Influence professionals in the category of humanitarian. Originally published on GlobeSt.com.

In preparation for our Women of Influence special feature and retreat, GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com together is putting a spotlight on the achievements of women in commercial real estate.

This year, we collected nominations across a number of fields, and will celebrate the winners at our GlobeSt. Women of Influence Conference in Park City, UT. This year’s amount of entries was our biggest yet.

Steps above merely writing a check or running a race, true humanitarians are passionate about a cause and take action beyond their professional responsibilities, to further that cause. The women chosen in the category this year have made strides in working to improve the welfare of humankind, such as significant contributions benefiting one’s community through charitable work, philanthropy, education, service and other efforts—without the expectation of compensation or accolades, other than the satisfaction obtained by helping others.

The top women in the category of humanitarian chosen this year are as follows:

Liz Sands, Sands Investment Group

Holley R. Chant, Lendlease

Christine Deschaine, Kennedy Wilson Brokerage

Libby Ekre, MEB Management Services

Jackie Knight, Ackerberg

Leona Medley, Bedrock

Janet Miller, Colliers International Nashville

Kristi Pearce-Percy, Cuschieri Horton Architects

Barbi Reuter, Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR

Irene Thomas-Johnson, JLL

As always, our seasoned editorial team was seeking the best of the best across the commercial real estate spectrum. In evaluating the entries, we took into account a number of factors, including: the nominee’s impact on, and reputation within, her firm and broader professional community; the nominee’s professional career highlights, from dealmaking savvy and innovation to client satisfaction and personal growth; a proven ability to achieve goals and display ingenuity in terms of creative thinking and problem solving; her dedication to furthering the development of her field and the role of women within it; accomplishments and involvement in her company, the CRE industry and broader social community;  a personal commitment to the highest ethical standards, service and excellence; and so much more.

The Annual GlobeSt. Women of Influence Conference celebrates the women who drive the commercial real estate industry forward. These influential leaders will discuss the critical issues facing CRE now and in the future, what it means to be a woman in business today and CRE’s place in the #MeToo era. They will discuss what they are doing to promote diversity in the upper levels of management and what the industry can do to position itself for a more inclusive future.

Keep checking GlobeSt.com for more winners from other categories and be sure to keep an eye out for the July/August issue of GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum and future GlobeSt.com coverage for more highlights from these individuals.
