More than 40 years after opening their first location in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Golden
Corral is well-known as America’s #1 buffet & grill. The Company offers a salad bar, a selection
of prepared entrees, a carving station, side dishes, and desserts in a buffet setting. One of
Golden Corrals main selling points, and market sector differentiators, is they offer over 15
proteins to choice from. Guests can select from USDA, grilled to order, sirloin steaks, pork,
seafood, shrimp, and chicken. Guest can also enjoy their abundant offerings at breakfast,
lunch, and dinner services.
Since 1991 Golden Corral restaurant has created a new concept location which is approximately
10,000 square feet of space and seats approximately 450 guests. In 2001, system-wide annual
sales exceeded $1 billion for the first time. As of 2008, there were 485 restaurants in 41 states.
In April 2009, Golden Corral entered New England with a restaurant in Springfield,
Massachusetts. The company’s most recent restaurant concept, called “Strata”, was rolled out
during them id-2000’s in an effort to bring more of the food preparation into view of guests. In all
locations, guests serve themselves, including requesting made to order items such as Belgian
waffles, omelets and char-broiled steaks.
