Headquarted in Roanoke, VA., Advance Auto Parts, Inc., an investment grade tenant (S&P BBB-) and the largest automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America, serving both the professional installer and do-it-yourself customers. Advance was founded in 1932, employs approximately 74,000 Team Members and had sales of approximately $9.84 Billion in 2014. The company is publically trade on the New York Stock Exchange (Symbol: AAP) and has a market capitalization of approximately $12.5 billion.

The company primarily targets DoItYourself (DIY) customers, but has been increasing its focus on commercial customers. Commercial sales represented approximately 57% of 2014 sales, up from 40% in 2013. As of January 3, 2015, the company had 5,261 stores and 111 distribution branches operating under the Advance Auto Parts and Advance Discount Auto Parts names, mostly in the Northeastern, MidAtlantic, Southeastern and Midwestern regions of the U.S.

Advance also operates stores under the Western Auto and Advance Auto Parts names in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. In addition, AAP operated stores under the Autopart International trade name. Autopart International primarily serves the commercial market, with an emphasis on import parts. The January 2014 purchase of General Parts International added 1,248 Carquest stores and 105 Worldpac branches located in 45 states and Canada and serviced approximately 1,400 independently owned Carquest stores.
